About EAW

Our Background

Empowering Afghan Women is a nonprofit organization that supports young Afghan women and disabled people. EAW was founded in 2021 in Afghanistan by Lamar Zala, a young leader who wanted to educate women. EAW's main aim is to educate young people and help disabled children in their education.

EAW Mission

Due to poverty, the majority of children choose to do hard work or engage in child labor. According to the UN report, around one million children are currently involved in child labor in Afghanistan. Therefore, EAW will support children in their education, and we will give them in their education instead of doing extremely hard and harmful work.

EAW Three Weeks Workshop

Empowering Afghan Women completed a three-week workshop on five significant and essential topics: the Duolingo test, interview tips, CV writing, goal setting, and professional email writing for Afghan female students inside Afghanistan. The students were from high school and university backgrounds.

In this workshop, students learned how to write a CV for a scholarship or job application, and our teacher Nilab Jan guided them on different structures of CV writing. The EAW workshop trainer taught them how to send professional email writing, and she gave a lecture about the dos and don'ts of email writing and the mistakes students usually make in email writing.

In this virtual workshop, the EAW workshop trainer gave them an overview of goal setting for students in Afghanistan without having a curriculum and staying all day in their homes. Furthermore, during these workshops, students learn Duolingo test tips, and they are now prepared for the Duolingo test. As a result, they can be effective interviewers for scholarships and jobs.

We distributed nearly 120 certificates to all of our students from various parts of Afghanistan at the end of the workshop.

EAW wishes all the best to all its students and congratulates those who successfully competed in these three weeks' virtual workshop. Many thanks to Nilab, our volunteer trainer and program manager, for organizing this workshop.
